Typical Day
A Day in the Life of...
6:00 - 8:30 am BREAKFAST is served at or near the campsite. Bike repair service opens at tent city.
- Luggage loaded onto trucks.
- Hospitality Center open.
7:00 am Route officially opens for the day. Please do not start out before this time.
7:30 am First rest stop opens.
10:00 am - 2:00pm LUNCH is served along the route. Bike repair service available at lunch stop.
11:00 am Luggage arrives at next overnight tent city.
12 Noon - 6:00 pm Hospitality Center opens at tent city. This is where you'll find:
- all your questions answered
- lost and found
- bulletin board for communication
Host Town Welcome Center opens at overnight tent city. Come by and check out:
- schedules for afternoon activities
- location of dinner and entertainment
- information on the town
- where best to shop
1:00 pm FREE Shuttle service begins between campsite, motels, downtown, and entertainment.
1:00 pm Sports massage available at tent city until 8:00 pm.
2:00 - 6:00 pm Special activities - historical walks, hikes, swimming, tubing.
3:00 - 6:00 Bike repair service available at tent city.
5:00 pm Route closes for the day. We will pick you up if you are still on the route at this time. All route support will end.
5:00 - 8:00 pm DINNER Served downtown or at local restaurants.
5:00 - 9:00 pm Entertainment in downtown location.
7:30 pm Nightly meeting with Bike Virginia staff at entertainment site to answer questions and go over next day's route and special activities.
10:00 pm Quiet hours at "Tent City".
10:15 pm Shuttle Bus service stops.
