Accommodations

Outdoor Camping: Most Bike Virginia cyclists camp each night on the grounds of John Battle High School while in Bristol, Dobyns-Bennett High School while in Kingsport, and Abingdon High School while in Abingdon. You will need to bring your own tent and camping gear.

Mobile Camping: A mobile camping service will be provided on Bike Virginia 2008 - The Crooked Road Tour. This "sherpa" service will save your time and energy at Tent City by allowing them to do your work for you. They will provide a dome tent (single or double), air mattress, sleeping bag, pillow, and towel. In addition to supplying the campers with the Tent City Basics, they will also set up and tear down your camp on a daily basis. Indoor Camping (non-air-conditioned): If you did not bring a tent, indoor camping is available each night on a first-come, first-serve basis. Simply roll-out your sleeping bag and pad in the gym at each location. There is no additional fee.

RV Camping: An RV Parking Pass ($50) must be purchased for RV Campers, which include: full/mid-size RVs, camping trailers and 5th wheel trailers. Limited parking spots are available. Unless passes are purchased in advance, space is not guaranteed. In order to enable Bike Virginia to best serve your needs as a RV camper, we do ask that you contact us prior to your arrival. This will allow us to gauge the number of RVs versus the number of on-site parking spots available so we can prepare a remote location if needed. Electrical hookups are available at the Bristol tent city RV location. Use of a generator is prohibited after 10:00 pm at tent city. Please contact us info@bikevirginia.org with any questions.

Hotel: Hotel accommodations are available on a first-come basis. You need to make your own hotel reservation. Remember to mention that you are part of the Bike Virginia Tour to get the discounted prices. If you choose a hotel not on our list, luggage transport will not be provided.

Bed & Breakfast: B&B accommodations are available on a first-come basis. You need to make your own B&B reservation. Remember to mention that you are part of the Bike Virginia Tour to get the discounted prices. Cyclists choosing the B&B option must make arrangements with the B&B to pick up and drop off their luggage at tent city.
