Welcome to Mount Jackson, one of many friendly small towns Covered Bridge

in Shenandoah County, Virginia. The Mount Jackson Historical District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Mount Jackson is rich in Civil War history. We have several Civil War era buildings. The Union Church in downtown Mount Jackson was used as a hospital, and you can see where the wounded soldiers wrote their names on the wall. Likewise, Our Soldiers Cemetery has a monument listing the names of soldiers from all the Confederate states who died at the Mount Jackson Confederate Hospital. Also, near Mount Jackson, you can see the longest Covered Bridge in Virginia.
