Our Shenandoah
Valley Odyssey begins and ends in the tranquil town of
Bridgewater , home to the
finest collection of vernacular architecture in the Valley. The
campus of Bridgewater College will serve as our Bike Virginia
home.
After a day
of touring the valley's majestic scenery and visiting
our first of three caverns, we'll continue northward to
Harrisonburg. Our home
for the evening is James Madison University , founded
in 1908, and named for the Father of the Constitution
and America 's fourth president. A short walk to downtown
Harrisonburg , founded in 1780, will take you to coffee
shops, restaurants, museums, and quaint shops.
Monday, we'll
bike along the base of the mighty Massanutten Mountain
to the historic towns of New
Market and Mount Jackson.
All up and down
the Shenandoah Valley , you will experience 300 miles
of history, southern hospitality and natural beauty a
place that time may have forgotten, but you never will.
